WE ALSO HAVE INDIRECT JOBS, INDIRECT JOBS ARE SPONSORED ELSEWHERE IN THE REGION WHERE YOU'VE GOT A RIPPLE EFFECT OF PEOPLE WHO ARE BUYING THINGS AND ACTIVITIES AND THE KINDS OF SUPPORT SYSTEMS THAT AN EMPLOYMENT BASE NEEDS GIVES YOU A RIPPLE EFFECT OF INDIRECT JOBS. AND I THINK SOMETIMES WE FORGET HOW REALLY IMPORTANT THE DECISIONS ARE THAT ARE MADE AT THE CITY LEVELS IN THE STATE OF TEXAS AND IN MUCH OF THE REST OF THE COUNTRY. THE CITY CHOOSES THE ZONING, THE CITY APPROVES. WHAT KIND OF DEVELOPMENT IS GOING TO BE THERE THAT TAX REVENUE SUPPORTS NOT ONLY EVERYTHING THAT YOU ALL CHOOSE TO DO, BUT THE COUNTY, THE STATE, THE SCHOOL DISTRICT AND THE COLLEGES. SO YOU ALL ARE REALLY IN THE DRIVER'S SEAT ABOUT WHAT KIND OF ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT BRINGS ADDITIONAL REVENUE TO EVERY OTHER JURISDICTIONAL LEVEL. THIS JUST SHOWS YOU WHO GETS WHAT PIECE OF THE PIE WE OFTEN FORGET THAT THE STATE OF TEXAS IS A BIG PARTNER. BUT THEY TAKE 6.2, 5% OF EVERY DOLLAR THAT'S SOLD. [00:10:04] YOU'VE GOT SOME NICE RETAIL HERE. THEY ALSO SEND REFERRALS IN FOR PEOPLE WHO ARE LOOKING FOR SITES. AND WE'RE HAVE OVER THE YEARS SEEN THAT THE STATE OF TEXAS HAS HAS BEEN A GOOD PARTNER. THE PART OF THAT WE LIKE TO BE ABLE TO SHARE IS THE WHAT THE PROGRAM HAS COST VERSUS WHAT HAS WHAT IT HAS BROUGHT IN. AND THE THE CITY OF ALLEN. THROUGH DIRECT PROPERTY AND SALES TAXES. AS A PREVIOUS ASSISTANT CITY MANAGER, THAT BOND VALUE ISSUE IS AN IMPORTANT ONE THAT KEEPS YOUR FISCAL HEALTH FRONT AND CENTER AND YOUR BOND RATING IS IMPROVED BY FIVE $5 FOR EVERY $1 THAT'S SPENT ON THE PROGRAM. AND AT THE TIME THERE WERE SEVERAL PEOPLE THAT WERE NOT REALLY WANTING TO MAKE THAT DEAL BECAUSE THEY JUST THOUGHT, WELL, THERE'S A LOT OF INCENTIVE MONEY TO PAY INTO THAT MALL BECAUSE WE'RE GIVING THEM A PRETTY HEFTY REBATE ON THEIR SALES TAX TO BE ABLE TO GET THEM IN THE CITY. AND HE BASICALLY TOLD A LITTLE STORY WHERE HE SAID, YOU KNOW, IT'S KIND OF LIKE PRIMING A PUMP. HE SAID, IF YOU DON'T PRIME THE PUMP, YOU'RE NOT GOING TO GET WATER OUT OF IT. HE SAYS, BUT WE'RE GOING TO PUT A LITTLE BIT OF WATER IN THERE TO PRIME IT. I'M ACTUALLY GOING TO SKIP DOWN TO THE THIRD BULLET POINT BECAUSE THIS IS THE OTHER TIME IT WOULD BE REQUIRED IS WHEN YOU ARE PROPOSING TO SUBDIVIDE IT UNDER FIVE ACRES IN ANY CIRCUMSTANCE. SO I OWN SIX ACRES. I WANT TO SUBDIVIDE INTO THREE LOTS THAT ARE TWO ACRES, ONE CONVEYANCE PLOT FOR ALL THREE LOTS. THE MIDDLE POINT IS IF SOMEBODY DOES HAPPEN TO OWN OVER FIVE ACRES AND WANTS TO USE A CONVENIENCE PLOT FOR THEIR OWN CONVENIENCE OR CONVEYANCE PLOT FOR THEIR OWN CONVENIENCE WILL HAPPILY PROCESS THAT FOR THEM. THE GUILD IS GRATEFUL FOR THE FORESIGHT AND SUPPORT OF CITY COUNCIL AND THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION. THE HERITAGE VILLAGE IS A BEAUTIFUL AMENITY FOR THE CITY OF ALLEN, ONE WE CAN ALL BE VERY PROUD OF. SO I DONATED MY MONTHLY CAPITAL STIPEND TO THEM. AND THEN THE ONE FOR THIS MONTH IS ALL COMMUNITY OUTREACH. I WOULD POINT OUT THAT I THINK ALMOST EVERYBODY KNOWS EVERYTHING ABOUT ALL COMMUNITY OUTREACH. YOU KNOW, IT'S WHAT STARTED UP IN 1984. SO IT'S BEEN HERE FOR A LONG TIME. IT DOES A LOT OF GREAT THINGS FOR A LOT OF PEOPLE IN NEED. IF YOU'VE EVER GONE TO THE FOOD PANTRY, IF YOU'VE GONE TO THE RESALE SHOPS, THEY JUST HELP PEOPLE IN NEED AND WE DEFINITELY NEED AN ORGANIZATION LIKE THAT. BUT THEY'VE BEEN DOING IT FOR A LONG TIME AND THEY DO A GREAT JOB BETTER THAN ANY OTHER ORGANIZATION IN THE COUNTY WITH RESPECT TO HELPING PEOPLE IN NEED. I WOULD ALSO SAY THAT THIS IS MY FIRST REPEAT CHARITY OF THE MONTH. I'VE GONE THIS ENTIRE TIME FOR TWO YEARS WITH NO REPEATS. BUT THIS TIME I DID IT NOT BECAUSE I RAN OUT OF CHARITIES, BUT BECAUSE THIS IS MY FAVORITE CHARITY. IT'S THAT TIME OF THE YEAR WHERE I THINK IT'S GOOD TO KIND OF HIGHLIGHT ALL COMMUNITY OUTREACH BECAUSE I HOPE AND ENCOURAGE THAT OTHER PEOPLE WILL GO OUT AND MAKE CONTRIBUTIONS TOWARDS ALL COMMUNITY OUTREACH BECAUSE AS WE APPROACH CHRISTMASTIME, GO THROUGH THANKSGIVING AND ALL THAT OTHER STUFF, THEIR NEED INCREASES SUBSTANTIALLY. SO I ENCOURAGE PEOPLE TO SUPPORT THEM. BUT FIRST TIME REPEAT ONLY BECAUSE IT'S MY FAVORITE CHARITY IN COLLIN COUNTY. SO THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR THAT. ANYTHING ELSE, IF I MAY? YES.
